About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Software Engineer to join our team responsible for designing, building, and optimising a next-generation multi-region, multi-tenanted Execution Management System (EMS) platform. The ideal candidate will have experience building concurrent, performance sensitive systems where correctness and high availability are maintained across multiple regions to meet the stringent demands of our global trading customers.

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement low-latency, high-throughput systems for a multi-region, multi-tenanted EMS platform, ensuring compliance with industry standards.
  • Analyse and optimise critical paths in the system to reduce latency and improve performance.
  • Maintain distributed, fault-tolerant systems with high availability across multiple regions, ensuring data consistency and low-latency communication.
  • Implement real-time monitoring, telemetry and alerting systems for proactive issue detection and resolution.
  • Work closely with product, QA and infrastructure teams to align technical solutions with business requirements and ensure seamless deployments.
  • Review teammates' code with rigour and help raise the team's collective standard.
  • Use AI coding assistants heavily and critically - catching what they get wrong is part of the job.

Requirements

  • 3+ years professional backend engineering, including concurrent, performance sensitive systems.
  • Hands-on production Rust expertise. You should be able to walk through a non-trivial Rust system you built and defend its design.
  • C++ or Go experience is a plus.
  • Experience with distributed systems and event-driven architectures (e.g. Nats, Aeron)
  • Knowledge of multi-tenancy patterns and best practices.
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g. AWS, GCP, Azure) and tools for multi-region deployments.
  • A working knowledge of databases and caches (PostgreSQL, SQLite, Redis, Zookeeper).
  • Experience with observability tools (e.g. Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with a track record of working in cross-functional teams.
  • Attention to detail and ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Understanding of crypto markets and products (Desirable).
  • Experience in leveraging LLMs to accelerate delivery.
  • Financial Services experience is desired along with a background in trading/EMS platforms.
