About the Role
Wise is looking for an Analytics Engineering Director (AEL 3) in Servicing to join their Analytics Engineering team in London. The role is crucial in ensuring it's easy for employees to find and load relevant, trustable data quickly, supporting the mission to build better products faster by making it easy for Wisers to make data-informed decisions.
Responsibilities
- Scale an existing team of 8 to 20+ within the next 12 months, maintaining high standards and ensuring team member growth.
- Collaborate with Engineering, Product, and Analytics leads of the Servicing tribe to drive strategy for data and analytics utilization.
- Ensure the existence of trustable, discoverable, and context-enriched core datasets.
- Act as the go-to expert for new tooling, including AI applications like conversational AI, for data asset enablement and workflow optimization.
- Assess and implement data modeling best practices across the tribe to enhance data capabilities and cost sustainability.
Requirements
- Track record of creating and implementing long-term, strategic, cross-functional projects (2+ year time horizon).
- Ability to build strong empathy for stakeholders and internal customers, proactively identifying and solving their problems.
- Excellent storytelling ability with data, translating complex insights into defensible, digestible, and actionable narratives.
- Advanced proficiency in SQL and Python (code-review required).
- Experience in architecture review.
- Prior experience in building robust analytics pipelines and designing effective data models.
- Ability to own the roadmap for implementation of best practices regarding Business Intelligence Tools like LightDash and transformation tools like dbt.
- Experience implementing multiple tools and workflows, including security and technical implementation, and adoption.
