About the Role
This role offers an exceptional opportunity for an experienced tax professional to join a long-established and respected firm. You will work closely with the Tax Partner, acting as their trusted second in command, and play a key role in delivering high-quality tax advisory services to a diverse client portfolio. The role is heavily focused on complex tax planning projects and advisory work, rather than compliance.
Responsibilities
- Act as the right hand to the Tax Partner on a variety of advisory projects.
- Advise owner-managed businesses and shareholders on a wide range of tax matters.
- Support clients through business growth, succession planning, and exit strategies.
- Provide tax planning advice to property investors, developers, and property-related businesses.
- Advise on Corporation Tax, VAT, SDLT, and ATED matters.
- Deliver private client tax advice covering Income Tax, Capital Gains Tax, Inheritance Tax, and Trusts.
- Attend client meetings and build strong professional relationships.
- Review technical tax matters and prepare advisory reports.
- Assist with complex tax planning assignments and specialist projects.
- Support junior members of the tax team where required.
Requirements
- CTA, ACA, ICAS qualified or equivalent experience.
- Former HMRC Inspector of Taxes backgrounds will also be considered.
- Strong mixed tax experience gained within UK accountancy practice.
- Proven experience providing tax advisory services to owner-managed businesses and private clients.
- Knowledge of Corporation Tax, VAT, SDLT, ATED, Income Tax, Inheritance Tax, and Trust taxation.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
- Commercially minded with a proactive approach to client service.
- Ability to deal confidently with clients and advisers at all levels.
