About the Role
Arcadis is seeking a self-starting and experienced Project Civil/Environmental Engineer to support an expanding portfolio of projects throughout the United States. This role involves collaborating with scientists, engineers, project managers, and technical experts on civil design and environmental permitting projects for diverse sectors including energy, industrial, and transportation.
Responsibilities
- Develop engineering designs for permitting or construction permits.
- Manage civil or environmental engineering projects, including land development, planning, soil and erosion control design, and stormwater permitting.
- Analyze technical reports, construction submittals, maps, drawings, tests, and aerial photographs to understand site characteristics and support design development.
- Review applicable regulations, permitting requirements, and standards.
- Develop civil engineering designs based on data interpretation and regulatory constraints.
- Produce quality materials within tight timeframes.
- Simultaneously manage several assignments.
- Conduct field assignments as needed.
- Participate in face-to-face client, technical, and stakeholder meetings.
- Delegate work and mentor junior engineers.
- Participate in and facilitate group meetings.
- Effectively work with project teams, including local, national, and global technical and client teams.
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science Degree in Environmental, Chemical, or Civil Engineering or closely related field.
- Successful completion of the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam.
- Minimum 5 years of professional experience.
- Fluent with AutoCAD, Autodesk Civil 3D, or other terrain modeling design software.
- Experience with hydrologic/hydraulic modeling (e.g., HydroCAD, WinTR-55, PondPack, HEC-RAS).
