About the Role
As an Assistant Manager, you will be a key member of the leadership team, supporting the General Manager with the day-to-day running of the business. You will help lead a large and energetic team, ensuring high operational standards, excellent customer service, and strong business performance across food, drink, and events.
Responsibilities
- Support the General Manager with the day-to-day operation of the business.
- Lead shifts and ensure high standards of service across food, drink, and events.
- Inspire, coach, and develop team members to perform at their best.
- Deliver memorable guest experiences and encourage repeat custom.
- Identify and drive sales opportunities to support business performance.
- Maintain high standards of food safety, compliance, cleanliness, and health and safety.
- Act as a positive role model for company values, culture, and customer service.
- Take responsibility for the business and team in the General Manager’s absence.
- Help create a positive, motivating, and inclusive working environment.
Requirements
- Previous experience in a hospitality leadership or supervisory role, ideally within pubs, bars, or a high-volume hospitality environment.
- Strong people management, coaching, and team development skills.
- Excellent customer service skills and a genuine passion for creating outstanding guest experiences.
- Confident leadership style with the ability to motivate and inspire a team.
- Good commercial awareness and an understanding of sales and business performance.
- Strong problem-solving skills with a proactive approach.
- Ability to remain calm, organised, and focused in a busy, fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to take ownership and make decisions when required.
- A genuine interest in developing a long-term career within the hospitality industry.
