About the Role
As the Assistant Manager for De Beers London’s flagship store, you will support the Store Director in leading operations, driving sales growth, and upholding the brand's reputation. Your role is pivotal in creating a luxurious shopping experience that reflects the excellence of De Beers London.
Responsibilities
- Support the Store Director in leading the store's sales efforts, develop strategies to increase sales, and build strong relationships with VIP clientele.
- Implement action plans to develop sales for each product category and clientele.
- Conduct daily, weekly, and monthly KPI analysis and translate insights into targeted, actionable plans.
- Assist in hiring, training, and motivating staff to achieve sales goals and maintain high standards of customer service.
- Coach staff to foster growth and ensure proper training.
- Motivate and develop sales staff through regular meetings and target setting.
- Ensure accurate inventory levels, optimize stock mix and levels to reflect sales trends, and maintain merchandise presentation standards.
- Oversee store operations, control costs, and ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
- Prepare detailed sales reports and contribute to business reviews, providing insights and recommendations to improve operational efficiency and drive store success.
- Maintain the highest degree of customer service, foster a welcoming atmosphere, and handle complex client issues whilst ensuring the team also have the skills to support.
- Maintain visual merchandising standards and ensure displays reflect the brand's spirit of excellence.
- Maintain high standards of housekeeping and store presentation.
- Act as a brand ambassador, network within the local community, and cultivate new clientele.
- Maintain awareness of the local trading environment and competitors' activities.
- Take initiative in supporting the store's sales efforts, actively participate on the selling floor, and drive meaningful impact through strategic sales and business development.
- Set clear expectations for staff, communicate openly about sales targets and strategies, and inspire confidence through regular meetings and individual development plans.
- Trust and support your team by providing comprehensive training programs, fostering a collaborative work environment, and encouraging the exchange of ideas.
- Empower team to provide the best customer service and handle complex issues.
- Innovate by implementing creative in-store marketing and promotional activities, adapting sales strategies to the local trading environment, and seeking new possibilities for customer engagement.

Requirements
- Fluent in the local language and fluent in spoken and written English.
- Other languages (e.g., Chinese, Arabic, Russian) are a plus.
- Strong knowledge of the luxury jewellery retail industry and an inherent interest in the jewellery industry.
- Proven record of delivering sales results and experience in a store environment, flagship is a plus.
- A proactive leader who takes initiative and drives meaningful impact.
- An effective communicator who sets clear expectations and inspires confidence.

- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint), able to use a POS system, and strong digital presentation skills.
- Successful candidates will be required to complete background screening which may include a criminal check and validation of qualifications.
