About the Role

The Bulk Manager at Sprouts Farmers Market oversees the maintenance, packing, and stocking of all bulk foods, ensuring proper merchandising, packaging, and scaling of items. This role involves inventory management, adherence to company standards, and providing excellent customer service in a friendly environment.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the maintenance, packing, and stocking of all bulk foods.
• Follow the merchandising Bulk plan and ensure team properly packages and scales bulk items.
• Fill bulk bins, and prepare, wrap, and price bulk packages accurately.
• Order and maintain inventory, rotate product using code dates, and follow cleaning and sanitation programs.
• Oversee department compliance with safety, health, Weights & Measures, and COOL regulations.
• Communicate standards, expectations, policy changes, and product knowledge to team members.
• Provide a high level of customer service.
• Ensure Bulk items are properly prepared, packaged, and presented, and the Bulk area is clean and orderly.
• Receive, unload, and stock merchandise.
• Engage and evaluate team members through coaching, feedback, and development discussions.
• Make recommendations on merit increases via completing the bi-annual performance review process.
• Regularly attend and participate in in-store meetings.
• Recruit, hire, and make promotion/transfer decisions in collaboration with the Store Manager.
• Exercise independent judgment to address Team Member concerns.
• Take and document corrective actions, including collaboration with business and HR partners in managing performance.
• Ensure maximum productivity and efficiency by creating and adjusting schedules and staffing levels.
• Lead a team that collaborates to deliver the finest quality of product, highest level of service, and the greatest customer experience.
• Serve as a Key Carrier for the store and/or act as a Manager on Duty (MOD) as needed.

Requirements

• Be at least 18 years of age.
• Have 1-2 years of experience in a retail grocery environment.
• Have 1 year of managerial leadership experience.
• Be dependable and reliable.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule that changes, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Be expected to know weekly ad items.
• Be able to give customers direction of product location throughout the store.
• Perform general housekeeping in the department.
• Possess a working knowledge of personnel reports, margin reports, weekly sales numbers, and financial goals.
• Have and show outgoing and friendly behavior along with a positive attitude towards Team Members and customers.
• Ability to move vertically/horizontally transferring product weighing up to 50 lbs., from 4” to 36”, for a distance up to 4 feet for up to 15 hours without mechanical assistance.
• Requires continuous standing for up to 4 hours, for a total of 8 hours per shift.
• Be able to perform other related duties as assigned.
