About the Role
The therapist is responsible for administering daily radiation treatment on a linear accelerator using various treatment techniques such as SBRT/SFRT/SRS/IMRT along with simulation and scheduling patients for treatments. Qualified candidates will demonstrate superior patient care and outstanding communication skills while adhering to St. Francis radiation oncology’s high standard of excellence.
Responsibilities
- Deliver prescribed therapeutic doses of radiation in accordance with physician orders.
- Correctly prepare, operate and monitor radiotherapy equipment and accessories.
- Interpret images
- Prepare immobilization devices and bolus material.
- Perform daily review of all new patient and cone down data in the record and verify system.
- Arrange daily appointments for treatments and simulations.
- Adhere to the ASRT radiation therapist code of ethics
Requirements
- Graduate of an approved program in radiation therapy.
- NYS radiation therapy license
- Member of the ARRT in good standing
