About the Role
St. Catherine of Siena Hospital, a member of Catholic Health, has served the Smithtown area for over 50 years. The hospital is dedicated to providing compassionate care and fostering a supportive environment for healthcare professionals to develop their expertise.
Responsibilities
- Meet, greet, and orient patients to the floor.
- Answer patient and/or family member questions or redirect them to the appropriate care team member.
- Transcribe orders and prepare patient charts upon admission.
- Maintain patient charts appropriately and dismantle them upon discharge.
- Prepare diet and census sheets and rewrite medex' once a week.
- Prepare venipuncture lists and assist in coordinating and compiling statistics as needed.
- Perform patient and specimen transport duties.
- Assist the care team with the discharge process.
- Answer telephones professionally and distribute mail.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
- Minimum of 1 year previous experience in a doctor's office or health care facility.
- Must be computer literate and proficient in word processing.
