About the Role

As a L'Avenue at Saks Bartender, you are the face of the Saks Global hospitality experience at the bar. You will serve guests in a warm, accommodating, and impeccably professional manner, crafting premium beverages and delivering sophisticated service that aligns with luxury brand standards. You will combine mixology expertise with deep culinary knowledge to curate a memorable and gracious dining experience.

Responsibilities

Welcome, serve, and interact with guests in an attentive, sophisticated, and professional manner.
Craft exceptional cocktails using a thorough knowledge of premium beer, wine, and spirits.
Guide guests, answer questions, and make tailored recommendations using a deep understanding of the food menu.
Efficiently use POS and ticket systems for timely delivery of bar items.
Clean, sanitize, and maintain the bar and workstations, completing assigned side-work duties.
Demonstrate knowledge of proper order of service, including glassware, china, flatware, and garnish placement.
Fulfill operational duties involving moving or lifting objects as needed.
Maintain the highest level of personal hygiene and luxury presentation standards.
Adhere strictly to established accounting procedures for all guest transactions.
Participate in daily pre-shift meetings to stay informed on menu changes, specials, and VIP guests.
Arrive on time and accurately punch in/out for every shift and applicable meal break.
Follow established restaurant procedures for schedule or shift-change requests.
Proactively coordinate holiday, vacation, and time-off requests with management.

Requirements

High School Diploma or GED preferred.
Proven experience in premium bartending, beverage preparation, and high-end table/bar service guidelines.
Ability to work autonomously in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple tasks with grace and poise.
Exceptional customer service and problem-solving skills.
Strong 'win together' team mentality.
Strong foundational knowledge of spirits, classic cocktails, wine varietals, and culinary terms.
Role requires extended periods of standing, bending, climbing stairs, and the physical ability to lift and carry up to 35 pounds.
Willingness to work a flexible schedule tailored to luxury retail and hospitality business needs, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
