About the Role

This Director role is designed for a leader who can originate, sell, and deliver large national and local mandates where technology deployment, adoption, change, and benefits realization are treated as one integrated transformation challenge. The role will focus on leading the go-to-market and delivery approach for Digital Healthcare, with an emphasis on improving productivity, operational performance, staff experience, patient experience, and outcomes through technology.

Responsibilities

  • Work collaboratively with leadership to deliver the digital health business plan for national and local healthcare clients.
  • Originate, shape, and lead major digital healthcare opportunities focused on technology-enabled transformation.
  • Lead the end-to-end delivery of complex digital healthcare transformation programmes, ensuring technology deployment is connected to adoption, change, and benefits realization.
  • Build and manage relationships with various healthcare organizations and leaders.
  • Develop propositions that combine technology transformation, digital adoption, and other related services into practical offerings.
  • Work with clients to define the case for change, target outcomes, adoption strategy, and delivery roadmap.
  • Lead multidisciplinary teams across various domains like business change, clinical transformation, and technology implementation.
  • Actively contribute to relationships with technology partners and vendors.
  • Build the people capability required to scale the practice, including recruiting and developing specialists.
  • Contribute to practice management, including proposition development, thought leadership, and knowledge management.
  • Take accountability for the delivery of digital healthcare engagements and lead multiple programmes or workstreams.
  • Expand KPMG’s Digital Healthcare services with a focus on technology-enabled outcomes.
  • Act as a trusted adviser to clients on the pursuit, design, and delivery of digital healthcare programmes.
  • Lead business development, bid strategy, proposal development, client presentations, and commercial negotiation.
  • Build and manage excellent networks and client relationships at senior levels.
  • Provide leadership across delivery teams to ensure strong programme governance, risk management, and quality.
  • Coach and develop team members, focusing on building digitally confident and healthcare-literate talent.
  • Work across KPMG to integrate capabilities from various service lines.
  • Travel across the UK and internationally as required.
  • Act in line with KPMG’s values at all times.

Requirements

  • Significant experience working in digital healthcare, either in consulting, professional services, a technology provider, a system integrator, an NHS or healthcare organisation, or an allied public sector environment.
  • Proven track record of selling and delivering complex digital health programmes, ideally including EPR, AVT, workflow automation, digital adoption, clinical transformation, operational productivity or technology-enabled service redesign.
  • Deep understanding of the UK healthcare landscape, including NHS national bodies, provider organisations, local health and care systems, digital policy, operational pressures and the realities of clinical and operational change.
  • Experience delivering major technology-enabled transformation across the full lifecycle, from strategy to benefits realization.
  • Specific experience of embedding technology into ways of working, including change impact assessment, stakeholder engagement, training strategy, and post go-live optimisation.
  • Ability to connect technology delivery to measurable outcomes.
  • Experience of working with senior healthcare stakeholders, including board-level leaders, clinicians, and operational teams.
  • Strong understanding of Government Digital Service principles, NHS service standards, clinical safety, and information governance.
  • Experience developing or contributing to business and investment cases for healthcare or public sector technology programmes.
  • Credibility with technology vendors and alliance partners.
  • Experience leading multidisciplinary teams using agile, waterfall or hybrid delivery methods.
  • Commercially aware, with the relationships, market insight and delivery credibility required to build a significant revenue portfolio.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • A strong coaching mindset and the ability to build a market-facing team.
