About the Role

A high-impact opportunity to shape the standards, guidance, and regulatory framework that support the delivery of suitable financial advice across Lloyds Wealth. This role is central to developing and maintaining the Advice Framework and its associated control environment, interpreting regulatory requirements, and providing expert guidance on suitability to help the business navigate complex advice challenges.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain the Advice Framework and associated control environment.
  • Interpret regulatory requirements.
  • Provide expert guidance on suitability.
  • Ensure advice standards remain robust, proportionate, and aligned with regulatory expectations, business risk appetite, and the delivery of good client outcomes.
  • Influence proposition developments, regulatory projects, and business change.
  • Act as a trusted adviser to projects and governance forums, providing clear recommendations, constructive challenge, and practical solutions.
  • Translate evolving regulation and industry guidance into practical standards, controls, and business requirements.
  • Identify emerging risks, strengthen the advice control environment, and improve the support available to advisers.

Requirements

  • Hold a Level 4 Diploma in Regulated Financial Planning, or an equivalent qualification, as a minimum.
  • Strong understanding of the FCA regulatory framework for financial advice, including suitability requirements, Consumer Duty, and conduct expectations.
  • Significant experience within financial advice, advice frameworks, suitability, technical consultancy, proposition, compliance, or a related discipline.
  • Proven ability to interpret complex regulation and translate it into practical standards, guidance, and business requirements.
  • Strong understanding of what constitutes suitable advice and good client outcomes.
  • Experience developing, maintaining, or overseeing advice standards, frameworks, controls, or governance arrangements.
  • Confidence to guide, influence, and constructively challenge senior colleagues and governance forums.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess complex issues and recommend proportionate solutions.
  • Experience producing reports and presentations for senior governance forums, including summaries of regulatory change.
  • A pragmatic, solutions-focused approach and the judgement to balance client needs, regulatory expectations, commercial considerations, and firm risk appetite.
  • Subject to enhanced vetting if classed as a Certified Role under the Senior Managers and Certification Regime.
