About the Role
As a Senior Manager Cost Optimization - Building Systems, you will play a key role in establishing transparent cost structures, critically evaluating technical solutions, and implementing value engineering initiatives across our product portfolio. This position is particularly suited for candidates from the automotive, aerospace, or shipbuilding industries, industrial manufacturing, or other Lean-driven sectors, bringing a proven track record in cost optimization, value engineering, and operational excellence to further industrialize our building systems.
Responsibilities
- Support the development and implementation of the cost optimization strategy for our building systems to ensure cost competitiveness and value creation across the entire product portfolio.
- Apply Design-to-Cost, Should-Cost, Value Engineering, and Target Costing methods in product development, manufacturing, procurement, and construction.
- Identify, analyze, and prioritize cost optimization potentials for building systems, components, materials, and construction interfaces.
- Develop and maintain transparent cost models and benchmarks, ensuring a continuous learning process based on target-actual cost comparisons.
- Manage cross-functional cost optimization initiatives and support the implementation of improvement measures.
- Collaborate closely with Product, Engineering, Manufacturing, Procurement, Construction, and R&D teams to embed cost awareness sustainably in decision-making processes.
Requirements
- Several years of experience in Cost Engineering, Product Costing, Value Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Operational Excellence, or cost optimization within the automotive, aerospace, or shipbuilding industries, Lean Manufacturing, high-volume production environments, or similarly demanding industrial settings.
- Demonstrated experience in applying Lean Manufacturing principles and Continuous Improvement methods to achieve measurable improvements in costs, productivity, and efficiency.
- Proven success in implementing measurable cost reductions and sustainable business results through cross-functional initiatives.
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to translate technical solutions into economic impacts.
- Willingness to travel regularly between our locations.
- Fluent English language skills.
