About the Role

The SAS Cloud and Information Services team is seeking a Technical Architect to manage data management systems within SAS Cloud. This role is in a high-growth area, offering the opportunity to shape regional operations and work with diverse customers. The Technical Architect will focus on core SAS technology, specializing in areas like security, data management, system integration, and user interface, while also supporting pre-sales activities to drive revenue and ensure customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities

Analyze sales cycle information to define technical requirements and translate the sales technical vision into a detailed technical implementation proposal.
Scope and define work effort, support resource planning, and estimate costs for technical aspects of projects.
Conduct project requirements gathering.
Deliver software demonstrations and presentations highlighting technical features, competitive advantages, and business benefits of SAS software.
Build trusted relationships with Account Executives and clients to provide guidance on functional and technical aspects of proposed software and set proper expectations.
Provide reliable delivery of targeted project results as an expert in SAS methodologies, projects, and technologies.
Leverage detailed technical knowledge to support sales opportunities and implementations across solution domains.
Perform advanced or complex prototyping for SAS foundation technologies.
Install SAS software solutions and required supporting products for knowledge sharing and demonstration.
Conduct pre-sales implementations, including on-site support as required.
Assist in responding to RFIs/RFPs by utilizing the RFP Repository and crafting compelling answers.
Strategize with the sales team to provide functional and technical leadership for sales opportunities.
Identify opportunities to expand tactical services into strategic initiatives for SAS and the client, utilizing SAS Technical Support.
Understand, utilize, and communicate best practice methodologies and industry standards.
Provide support for user group events and trade shows.
Work proactively with Systems Engineers for cross-training and knowledge transfer.
Ensure all applicable security policies and processes are followed to support secure software development goals.
Participate in the design process.
Able to install/configure SAS solutions and products.
Produce excellent customer documentation.
Interact with Technical Support to verify and discuss issues around specific architectures at client sites.

Requirements

Australian Citizenship or Permanent Residency is required.
5+ years of system engineering, project management, applications development, technical architecture and design, and/or customer support experience.
Strong facilitation and communication skills.
Good knowledge of industry standards, methodologies, and SAS foundation technologies, architecture, and resources.
Clear understanding of Cloud Architecture concepts and best practices.
Must understand sales strategies and cycles.
Good problem-solving, organizational, decision-making, written, oral, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
