About the Role

The Transaction Advisory intern will work on financial due diligence engagements from start to finish, performing tasks in planning, execution, and completion phases of projects. Interns will learn to apply fundamental financial due diligence skills on assignments for both sell-side and buy-side clients across various industries, examining complex questions about acquisitions and divestitures.

Responsibilities

• Work on a variety of M&A transactions in varying industries
• Attend and participate in meetings with clients, target company management, private equity firms, and investment bankers
• Manage data flow and monitor the dataroom
• Work with the offshore support team to build analysis packages to analyze and interpret financial data
• Build custom analyses to identify key insights for clients
• Drive forward the deal process, communicating with key parties and managing deadlines
• Sharpen leadership and client communication skills
• Network with peers and connect with other Grant Thornton employees through social events and team-building exercises
• Meet with a mentor for regular feedback and professional development discussions
• Give back to the community through outreach activities

Requirements

• Pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting
• Minimum overall GPA of 3.0/4.0
• Willingness and ability to work additional hours, as needed
• Willingness and ability to travel to various client sites
• Excellent analytical, communication (written and verbal), and interpersonal skills
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
• Ability to analyze, interpret, and summarize financial information and large datasets
• Strong technical aptitude and skillset
• Demonstrated project management skillset including project planning and time management
• Ability to work efficiently and effectively in a complex team environment
• Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without the need for employment-based visa sponsorship now or in the future
