About the Role

This role involves developing and maintaining statistical reports, data sets, and databases for the Solid Waste Management Services division, supporting senior staff, and responding to information requests.

Responsibilities

  • Develops and maintains statistical reports and contact lists for the Division.
  • Develops and maintains data sets as required by the Unit.
  • Inputs reports, documents, proposals, and correspondence.
  • Compiles information packages and supports direct mail activities.
  • Supports senior staff with special events and activities.
  • Establishes and maintains filing systems.
  • Answers telephone and written inquiries.
  • Creates, updates, and maintains databases of programs, including route maps, using mapping software.
  • Maintains records of litter bin installations and removals.
  • Maintains and updates training records and prepares associated reports.
  • Updates and maintains databases, statistics, and communications for all division levels.
  • Responds to business-related requests for information.
  • Assists with administrative support and operational duties.
  • Compiles and analyzes surveys for Performance Measures and internal monitoring.
  • Provides information and liaises with other divisional staff.

Requirements

  • Post-secondary degree or diploma in Environmental Studies, Urban Planning, or related discipline, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience in preparing internal and external correspondence and detailed reports.
  • Experience using Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access).
  • Experience using mapping applications (ArcGIS Pro, QGIS, Route Smart).
  • Strong ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively as a team member.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with ability to perform duties under minimal supervision.
  • Good understanding of the technical and operational issues facing the division.
  • Ability to support Toronto Public Service values and a workplace culture that champions equity, diversity, and inclusion.
