About the Role

Pathways to Change (PTC) is an 8-week online group program for individuals who have used violence in intimate and familial relationships. The program focuses on promoting accountability, fostering empathy, and equipping participants with practical tools to build healthier, non-violent relationships. The goal is to address key risk factors, reduce immediate risks, and improve compliance, motivating participants toward sustained behavior change and connecting them to ongoing support services.

Responsibilities

Deliver high-quality interventions for men who use family violence, supporting behavior change and promoting safety and wellbeing.
Set up intake and assessment sessions (4-5 per week).
Provide group counselling for approximately 10 participants online in 90-minute sessions (4-5 per week).
Facilitate group programs in an online environment.
Work with people who demonstrate resistance, utilizing skills like motivational interviewing, strength-based practice, MARAM frameworks, and non-collusive practice.
Gather information, analyze risk, and develop thorough risk assessments with safety planning to support risk mitigation.
Support implementation, content development, and critical content review.
Work with people with multiple intersectionalities.
Maintain comprehensive case noting and effective administrative skills.
Utilize technology and systems, including Microsoft Teams and Monday.com.

Requirements

Tertiary qualifications in Social Work, Psychology, Counselling or Family Violence.
Experience facilitating group work.
Demonstrated experience in working with men who use family violence.
Strong risk assessment capabilities.
Ability to effectively facilitate group programs in an online environment.
Skills using technology and systems, including Microsoft Teams and Monday.com.
Agility, adaptive thinking, flexibility to change, willingness to try new approaches, and a strong team work ethic.
Stable, reliable internet connection.
Private office space to safely run groups from home.
Current Working with Children Check.
Willingness to undergo a National Criminal History Check.
