About the Role
Responsible for providing strategic direction and management for the planning, development, and implementation of the Merchant Services Pricing Framework and Strategy to support Commercial Bank and Business Banking, driving portfolio revenue at the Commercial and/or Bank-wide level.
Responsibilities
- Evaluate, inform, and continually implement Merchant Service Pricing Strategy, aligning department roles and responsibilities, and driving adoption across the organization.
- Work with Bank partners to understand and influence Merchant Pricing for new and existing customers, supporting business objectives.
- Demonstrate a thorough understanding of Merchant Pricing within Commercial and Business Banking, including key initiatives, major projects, and revenue goals.
- Stay informed of business and market trends affecting the business/department through third-party vendor updates and independent analyses.
- Shape overall Merchant Services strategic direction by creating analyses to further strategies.
- Oversee and ensure proper direction on CPLS strategic priorities and projects.
- Lead the creation and setting of pricing policy, and develop/oversee the implementation of pricing procedures or controls related to pricing discipline and compliance requirements.
- Perform highly complex analysis and judgment-based review, research, and/or reconciliation.
- Interpret results and present findings to influence strategic decisions within the department or division.
- Provide coaching, direction, and leadership to team members to achieve business results.
- Promote an environment that supports belonging and reflects the M&T Bank brand.
- Maintain M&T internal control standards, including timely implementation of internal and external audit points and addressing issues raised by external regulators.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree and minimum of 5 years’ related business line experience, including 1 year of leadership/supervisory experience.
- Alternatively, a combined minimum of 9 years of higher education and/or work experience, including 1 year of leadership/supervisory experience.
- In-depth understanding of principles in the discipline and basic knowledge of others.
- Could potentially manage a small team as needs dictate.
