About the Role
Arena Magazine is seeking a Chief of Staff to manage alignment and progress across operational initiatives during a period of team growth. The ideal candidate will possess an operational and analytical background, capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously, from evaluating and scoping to executing and documenting diverse initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Evaluating, scoping, planning, executing, and documenting various projects
- Managing events
- Managing podcast production
- Managing printer relations
- Executing retailer deals (e.g. Barnes & Noble)
- Conducting deep dives on financial statements
- Standing up a bookstore
- Managing the distribution of a book
- Finding new distribution channels
- Tracking and measuring tests
- Acting as meeting secretary
- Organizing multiple startups for a merch store
- Completing filing and mailing tasks
- Keeping the team on track
- Working hard with availability at most times during the day
Requirements
- At least 2-4 years of experience in an operations or consulting role
- Ability to communicate quickly and clearly
- Ability to move FAST
- Ability to consistently hit deadlines
- Comfortable with ambiguity, as the scope of this role is subject to change
- Ability to break big tasks down into smaller pieces and execute on them in a timely manner
- Strong writing skills with the ability to write clear prose
- Actively want to join a startup and abhor corporate bureaucracy
