About the Role
Seeking experienced Cooks and Dietary Aides for full-time and part-time positions at a long-term care nursing facility in Vestal, NY. Previous experience in a nursing home, senior living, hospital, or healthcare setting is required.
Responsibilities
- Prepares food according to standardized recipes to provide residents with consistently accurate, tasteful, and cost-effective meals.
- Serves meals or prepares for delivery by using correct portioning, meeting outlined standards, ensuring that the food is at the correct temperature and is attractive and tasty.
- Tastes all prepared food items for quality control.
- Cleans kitchen after preparation and serving, maintaining standards of cleanliness.
- Stores or discards excess food in accordance with safe food-handling procedures.
- Prepares and/or assists in the preparation of meals, beverages, and snacks.
- Delivers trays and carts to resident floors and dining rooms.
- Assembles resident meal trays.
- Works in the dish room and pot sink.
- Sweeps and mops.
- Disposes of trash and recyclables.
- Follows proper cleaning techniques of all kitchen equipment and work areas.
- Performs other job-related duties as they become required.
Requirements
- 1-year long-term care, hospital, or healthcare experience preferred.
