About the Role
The Global Mobility & Coordination Group within the HR Operations Section supports Rakuten Group’s global business by ensuring timely staffing and providing support to place the best people where they are needed. This role focuses on strengthening resourcing for processes related to paying compensation and allowances for employees on overseas assignments, prioritizing compliance and accuracy.
Responsibilities
- Support for payroll processing for employees on overseas assignments
- Annual administrative support for employees departing for overseas assignments (including TEQ, year-end tax adjustments upon departure, and tax filing upon return)
- Administration and tracking of overseas assignee information
- Operations related to international transfers (moving employees to overseas entities)
- Improving operational processes
- Handling inquiries from assignees
- Participate in and manage projects within the team
- Participate in cross-functional projects across the department
Requirements
- Experience in payroll operations or tax-related work
- Hands-on experience in global HR or mobility (e.g., relocation support)
- Business experience using English in the workplace
- Tax-related knowledge
- Project management experience
- Experience working on an overseas assignment (as an expatriate)
- Experience in HR planning and/or HR system design
