About the Role
Hearst Times Union Media Group is seeking a driven Account Executive for their Capital Region sales team. This full-cycle, new business-focused role involves prospecting, closing, and growing new accounts, while building long-term partnerships. You will also manage existing accounts, upsell digital marketing solutions, and leverage cutting-edge AI tools to maximize earning potential in a competitive market with uncapped earnings.
Responsibilities
- Own the full sales cycle: Prospect, pitch, close, and grow accounts across digital, event, and print solutions.
- Drive new business by proactively identifying and connecting with businesses through outreach, networking, and market awareness.
- Present a compelling suite of products including Content Marketing, Hearst Any Screen Streaming Television Advertising, SEO, SEM, display including programmatic, paid social media marketing, Email marketing, and print solutions.
- Build and manage pipeline using Salesforce, Outreach, and ChatGPT Enterprise, consistently meeting activity and revenue targets.
- Deliver compelling presentations, leading discovery conversations and presenting media plans that demonstrate value and ROI.
- Leverage AI tools to increase efficiency, improve client engagement, and close business faster.
Requirements
- BA/BS degree in Advertising, Marketing, or Communications a plus or equivalent experience.
- 2+ years of B2B sales experience (media, advertising, business or related industry preferred).
- Proven success in new business development and revenue growth.
- Experience managing a full sales cycle.
- Adept at using CRM tools (Salesforce, Outreach, or similar).
- Existing relationships in the Albany market are a plus.
- Competitive, resourceful, and motivated by uncapped earnings.
- Dynamic on the phone and in person.
- Knowledgeable about Albany and the Capital Region.
- Goal-oriented with a track record of exceeding targets.
- Confident in client-facing situations, from cold outreach to executive presentations.
- Adaptable and resourceful, able to navigate challenges and find solutions.
- Strategic approach, not just transactional.
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills.

- Base salary starting at about $50,000 (New York State)
- On-target first-year earnings potential of $75,000 - $125,000 (annualized, New York State)
- Uncapped commissions
