About the Role

The NYLIM Investment Research Analysis Internship Program is an exciting opportunity for rising juniors and seniors looking to gain the experience, skills, and support needed to help launch their careers. This 10-week paid internship begins in June 2027 and offers hands-on experience across a variety of business areas, allowing collaboration with experienced professionals, network development, and exposure to the asset management industry.

Responsibilities

  • Support research analysts and portfolio managers in the active management of investment portfolios through exposure to daily trading activity in special projects and reporting.
  • Conduct financial analysis, including financial modeling and scenario analysis; surveil existing bond portfolio positions and prepare credit research updates using financial modeling, scenario analysis, and relevant databases.
  • Provide market data analytics support through data collection, and the preparation of special market reports, dashboards, and presentations.
  • Contribute to a variety of projects that may include portfolio management, new deal analysis, market research, and credit evaluation.
  • Work alongside investment professionals, develop analytical and technical skills, and gain insight into the decision-making processes that guide institutional investing.

Requirements

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Economics, Finance, and/or Computer Science.
  • Strong quantitative and qualitative analytical skills with knowledge of financial markets, capable of undertaking interpretive analysis of new concepts.
  • High proficiency in Excel/VBA, financial modeling, and Bloomberg and other data visualization tools.
  • An understanding of core computer science and programming concepts, including data structures and algorithms, as well as knowledge of a programming language (e.g., Java, Python, C++, etc.).
  • Excellent interpersonal, collaboration, communication, and writing skills; detail-oriented with the ability to effectively multi-task.
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
  • No employment-based immigration sponsorship offered.
  • Program not available to those authorized to work under optional practical training (OPT) or curricular practical training (CPT).
