Watney's Engineering Program Manager owns the hardware programs that teach robots new tasks, including the fixtures and rigs for robot training data. This is a 0-to-1 role where every program directly impacts the robot, requiring ownership of schedule, budget, and cross-functional coordination from the outset.
Responsibilities
- Own schedule, budget, and cross-functional delivery for hardware programs that teach robots new tasks.
- Take a program from first build to validated, establishing processes as needed.
- Collaborate directly with hardware design and build engineers.
- Grow into owning robot build and manufacturing programs.
Requirements
- Managed a hardware program at a large company through at least one 0-to-1 cycle.
- Possess sufficient technical understanding for engineers to trust your judgment without designing hardware.
- Applied learnings from a large company in a smaller company setting.
- Comfortable owning a program before its completion criteria are defined.
