About the Role
Sail is building the foundation for agentic AI and is seeking a Strategic Finance Lead to establish and own the company's financial infrastructure. This is a foundational role for an ambitious individual to create financial systems from the ground up in a fast-paced, early-stage environment.
Responsibilities
- Build and own Sail's operating P&L, connecting GPU cluster unit economics to product pricing and financial performance.
- Partner crossfunctionally on board materials, including financial modeling, data room preparation, and diligence support.
- Establish Sail's initial FP&A process, including budgeting and forecasting tailored for an early-stage company.
- Develop the headcount and opex planning model, and manage burn rate and runway tracking.
- Collaborate on compute procurement and go-to-market decisions.
Requirements
- 5-8+ years in finance roles with significant modeling experience (investment banking, growth equity/private equity, corporate development, or strategic finance/FP&A at a high-growth company).
- Experience in infrastructure or capital-intensive businesses (data centers, energy, equipment leasing, or similar) is a strong plus.
- Proven ability to build financial models from scratch, including operating P&Ls and pro forma models.
- Comfort with ambiguity and a preference for building appropriately sized processes.
- Prior exposure to revenue recognition for usage-based billing is a bonus.
- Experience within a GPU cloud, data center, or infrastructure-as-a-service business is a bonus.
