About the Role

The Director, Event Technology (SNE) is responsible for achieving revenue and profitability goals for assigned locations. This role ensures the team delivers World-Class service, cultivates venue relationships, and fosters a high-performance, accountable, and continuously improving environment. The position manages a small team, venue revenue between $450k - $900k, and reports to regional management.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain strong client relationships and provide outstanding customer service.
  • Service events and act as a point of escalation.
  • Identify key issues and decision makers for contract renewals.
  • Consult with Venue Sales Leadership on sales strategies.
  • Participate in business review presentations.
  • Manage an efficient and profitable operation with a focus on revenue maximization and profitability.
  • Achieve financial goals by managing labor, equipment sub-rentals, and other costs.
  • Utilize operational and financial reports and complete standard and ad hoc reports accurately.
  • Coordinate invoicing activities using the Company billing system and ensure client approval.
  • Complete and submit accurate sales forecasts.
  • Manage location P&L and develop action plans for deficiencies or growth.
  • Confirm timely payment processing by venue partners.
  • Perform and direct daily floor operations including scheduling and equipment setups, operation, and strikes.
  • Ensure equipment and services are delivered on time, in good working condition, and meet specifications.
  • Anticipate and address equipment challenges and changes professionally.
  • Use inventory control procedures to maintain proper inventory levels and ensure safety, security, and quality assurance.
  • Efficiently share labor and equipment within the local market.
  • Attend operational venue meetings.
  • Apply troubleshooting and problem-solving skills to resolve equipment and software issues.
  • Effectively utilize applicable company computer systems.
  • Act as the solo on-site technician for events, if necessary.
  • Create strategies to maximize revenue per-event, including upsell and cross-sell opportunities.
  • Prepare and deliver compelling presentations on Encore's value and solutions.
  • Prepare and present quotes and proposals in a timely manner.
  • Attend site visits, pre-conference planning meetings, and venue meetings to support customer events.
  • Collaborate with vendors and other departments to capture and service events.
  • Understand event cost structure and incorporate into solution designs.
  • Attend customer meetings to understand goals and address questions and concerns.
  • Ensure all customer information is up to date and accurate in the CRM system.
  • Maintain knowledge of new product/service offerings and emerging technology.
  • Create and present performance, pipeline, and forecasting reports to senior management.
  • Cultivate and maintain relationships with customers, venue personnel, and Encore supporting functions.
  • Oversee personnel assisting with event execution.
  • Exceed customer expectations and needs.
  • Meet with guests on-site to ensure needs are met and equipment is accurate and functional.
  • Monitor small venues and check in on customers.
  • Portray a polished and professional image and ensure the team adheres to standards.
  • Promote a culture of high performance, accountability, and continuous improvement.

  • Manage performance, address employee concerns, maintain staffing levels, and facilitate team development.
  • Manage human resources activities including selection, performance management, and learning.
  • Provide coaching to develop team members' skills.
  • Train employees on Encore standards for service and equipment, and computer systems.
  • Recommend team members for training opportunities.
  • Ensure Encore's D,E &I initiatives are implemented.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent experience.
  • 3+ years of audio visual experience.
  • 1+ years of supervisory experience.
  • 2+ years of customer service or hospitality experience preferred.
  • Sales experience is a plus.
  • Working knowledge of audio visual equipment in a live show environment.
  • Must be able to successfully complete Level 3 Skills training.
  • Proficiency with computer hardware.
  • Proficiency with computer software and programs, including the Internet and Microsoft Office.
  • Effective leadership abilities and customer satisfaction focus.
  • A valid driver’s license is required for team members who may operate Company vehicles.
