About the Role
Manager Market Research & Analytics will connect market intelligence with business strategy, helping APA's Gas Transmission & Storage, Contracted Power and Gas Powered Generation (GPG) businesses make informed commercial and investment decisions. This is a highly collaborative role where success is driven by stakeholder engagement and analytical capability. The role involves translating market intelligence, industry trends, and quantitative analysis into clear, targeted insights to support strategic decision-making.
Responsibilities
- Partner with business leaders to understand strategic priorities and deliver targeted market insights.
- Build trusted relationships with stakeholders across business units and corporate functions.
- Translate complex market dynamics and analytical findings into clear, compelling narratives.
- Lead the delivery of strategic market intelligence and analysis for corporate strategy and business planning.
- Facilitate discussions to challenge assumptions and support decision-making.
- Present market insights and strategic recommendations to senior leaders and executive audiences.
- Oversee the development and improvement of market outlooks, forecasts, and energy transition scenarios.
- Develop and maintain relationships with external market participants and industry bodies.
Requirements
- Demonstrated experience partnering with business stakeholders to deliver insights that influence strategic, commercial, or investment decisions.
- Outstanding communication and relationship-building skills.
- Proven ability to translate complex analytical or market information into actionable recommendations for non-technical audiences.
- Experience presenting insights and recommendations to senior leadership and executive audiences.
- Strong commercial acumen.
- Experience using market intelligence, economic analysis, or industry research to support decision-making in energy, infrastructure, or capital-intensive industries.
- Knowledge of Australian energy markets (gas and/or electricity markets).
- Strong analytical capability, with experience developing forecasts, scenarios, or market assessments.
- Eligible to work in Australia.
- Candidates are subject to background vetting (including Police checks).
