About the Role

The Consumer Platform: Entitlements & Offerings team builds and scales high-availability systems for Nine's subscription, membership, and digital monetization strategies. As an Associate Software Engineer, you will join an Agile squad to design and scale core paywall and access systems, contributing to production code and AI-native initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain high-performance microservices, APIs, and user interfaces using Golang, Node.js, React, and TypeScript.
• Write clean, maintainable, and thoroughly tested code across frontend and backend systems.
• Design, configure, and maintain AI agents and agentic pipelines.
• Integrate AI tools into developer environments to automate system tasks and streamline code delivery.
• Maintain high availability, security, and low latency across cloud infrastructure (AWS, GCP, Kubernetes).
• Contribute to architectural discussions and system designs for high-concurrency access control platforms.
• Participate in code reviews to uphold full-stack quality and engineering standards.
• Author project requirements and technical documentation optimized for consumption by both humans and AI tooling.

Requirements

• Academic background or practical exposure building web, mobile, or backend applications, including Git version control.
• Practical experience using AI coding tools and a basic understanding of agentic workflows and automation.
• Foundational understanding of cloud architecture (AWS or GCP), containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), and CI/CD pipelines.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Demonstrated passion for software engineering and modern AI.
• A strong growth mindset with an eagerness to learn new frameworks, tools, and engineering patterns.
• Must have the right to lawfully work and live in Australia.
