About the Role
Leverage consumer insights, mill strategies, and key trends to drive fabric development, innovation, costing, and positioning, fostering a 'Fabric First' mentality. Provide direction to internal Gap Inc teams and external partners based on cross-functional strategies.
Responsibilities
- Analyze fabric needs across the company.
- Communicate fabric recommendations to cross-functional partners for leveraging qualities across divisions.
- Track fabric development KPIs and brand discipline on seasonal developments.
- Partner with Product Development and Merchandising to ensure fabrics are within the pricing architecture.
- Identify fabrics that need cost engineering and communicate with the Mill management team.
- Drive fabric process discipline throughout the product-to-market calendar.
- Manage projects and program execution within R&D, ensuring quality of work.
Requirements
- Strong experience with fabric constructions, dye techniques, finishes, and garment construction/manufacturing/sourcing processes.
- Proven ability to influence and make decisions across geographies in a matrix environment where speed and cultural sensitivity is crucial.
- Ability to anticipate operational/program issues and develop preventative measures.
- Apply fully functional professional knowledge in R&D.
- Ability to travel globally.
