About the Role
As a Director in our Healthcare & Life Sciences sector, you will support the day-to-day management of client accounts, aligning with the Healthcare and Life Sciences sectors and our Public Affairs team. You will manage client communications programs, develop and execute strategies, draft client documents, provide insights on market developments, and plan media interactions. You will also serve as a liaison across internal teams, lead client campaigns, and oversee colleagues to ensure timely and budget-conscious delivery of client initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Serve as a day-to-day client contact for select accounts.
- Project manage client accounts, workstreams, and projects, ensuring overall quality of work.
- Write and edit various materials including memos, policy documents, press releases, presentations, emails, media pitches, and web content.
- Demonstrate understanding of client information, including business strategy, services, stakeholders, and competitive landscape.
- Deliver high-quality work focused on client needs.
- Create client-ready deliverables in a timely and efficient manner.
- Anticipate client needs proactively.
- Counsel clients on industry, company, and market developments.
- Identify resource needs and assign responsibilities with account leaders and project managers.
- Support billing procedures for timely and accurate client invoicing.
- Assist account leads with day-to-day program management, operating with minimal supervision and leading workstreams.
- Help clients identify and escalate risks to act and communicate with integrity.
- Assist senior team members in creatively developing, preparing, and executing communications.
- Identify emerging opportunities to add client value.
- Anticipate difficult situations and evaluate strategies and alternatives with senior management.
- Serve as a thought leader to the Public Affairs practice and healthcare team.
- Mentor junior staff and demonstrate leadership ability.
- Foster collaboration and partnership within the team, supporting a positive work environment.
- Actively support new business development efforts.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant industry or field.
- Minimum five years of work experience in communications agency and/or state/federal government experience.
- Superior public policy, writing, editing, and research skills.
- Proven project management track record.
- Comfort in managing and working with staff at all levels.
- Prior healthcare experience, including familiarity with major issues facing the industry, is a must.
- This role requires travel to clients and FTI office(s) up to 20%.
- Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis; this position does not provide visa sponsorship.
