Our multidisciplinary team supports senior clients in a rapidly changing reporting landscape, focusing on design and automation of reporting processes, technical accounting, and interpretation of reporting frameworks.

  • Advise clients on complex accounting, reporting, controls and financial management matters, delivering practical solutions that align accounting requirements with systems, data, governance and budgeting needs.
  • Lead and deliver high-quality accounting, reporting and controls engagements, managing workstreams, ensuring timely deliverables, and producing robust technical analyses, documentation and client-ready outputs.
  • Leverage technology, data and analytics to improve finance and reporting processes, including automation, reporting platforms, data transformation, visualisation and controls optimisation.
  • Collaborate across multidisciplinary teams to support client relationships, business development and project delivery, while coaching junior colleagues and maintaining the highest professional, technical and regulatory standards.

Requirements

  • ACA or international equivalent professional accountancy qualification.
  • Strong technical accounting skills, including experience of applying public sector accounting and reporting frameworks in practice.
  • Experience of the UK public sector reporting landscape, such as the application of the Government Financial Reporting Manual (FReM) and departmental Group Accounting Manuals (GAMs), for example the DHSC GAM, as well as local government and NHS accounting requirements where relevant.
  • Experience advising on complex accounting, reporting and controls issues in a corporate, public sector, regulated or government-related environment, either in audit, advisory or a technical accounting role.
  • Experience of the interaction between accounting, budgeting and financial management frameworks, including capital and revenue distinctions and their practical implications for reporting, governance and control.
  • Experience of improving or automating reporting processes, including working with source systems and data flows.
  • Experience delivering high-quality technical analysis and client-ready outputs, including accounting papers, technical assessments, solution and process design documentation, reporting documentation and controls-related deliverables.
  • Strong organisational skills, including the ability to manage multiple deliverables, prioritise effectively and deliver to tight deadlines in complex stakeholder environments.
  • Experience of supporting teams on engagements, including coaching junior colleagues and taking responsibility for the quality and delivery of your own work.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex accounting, reporting, data and technology issues clearly and pragmatically to both finance and non-technical audiences.
  • Hands-on experience delivering technology, automation or data solutions applied to finance, accounting or reporting processes, including reporting platforms such as Workiva and data and automation tools such as Power Query, Power BI or Alteryx.
