About the Role

PwC's Capital Projects Risk & Control team provides independent challenge and assurance across project delivery, commercial performance, and third-party relationships to help clients improve outcomes, reduce risk, and protect value. The team comprises accountants, commercial specialists, project professionals, engineers, and data specialists delivering a range of services for major infrastructure investments. This role offers the opportunity to work with high-profile clients on nationally significant projects, engage with senior stakeholders, and develop a unique blend of skills in a supportive, technology-enabled environment.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver workstreams and manage day-to-day delivery within larger client engagements.
  • Manage stakeholder interactions and coach junior team members.
  • Write high-quality reports and present findings clearly to clients.
  • Understand project, commercial, and governance challenges with senior client stakeholders.
  • Develop practical recommendations for clients.
  • Analyze commercial, financial, and project data to identify trends, risks, and control weaknesses.
  • Support reviews across the lifecycle of major capital programmes, including governance, project controls, commercial arrangements, supplier performance, and delivery confidence.
  • Support commercial assurance reviews, including supplier cost assurance, contract compliance, commercial performance, and value optimisation.
  • Collaborate with technology and data specialists to integrate analytics, automation, and Generative AI into project delivery.
  • Support business development, proposition development, and thought leadership activities.

Requirements

  • Open to SA2s only.
  • ACA or international equivalent qualification.
  • Previous audit experience and/or a chartered accountant with analytical skills.
  • Strong curiosity and the ability to understand how organisations operate and where value or risk may exist.
  • Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
  • Strong written communication skills with the ability to produce high-quality client reports.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
  • Interest in AI, automation, and data-enabled ways of working.
  • Emotional intelligence with an ability to navigate cultural nuances.
  • Interest in major infrastructure, capital projects, or commercial performance, with a willingness to develop expertise in these areas.
