About the Role

PwC's Capital Projects Risk & Control team provides independent challenge and assurance across project delivery, commercial performance, and third-party relationships to help clients improve outcomes, reduce risk, and protect value. The team comprises accountants, commercial specialists, project professionals, engineers, and data specialists delivering a range of services for major infrastructure investments. This role offers the opportunity to work with high-profile clients on nationally significant projects, engage with senior stakeholders, and develop a unique blend of skills in a supportive, technology-enabled environment.

Responsibilities

Deliver workstreams and manage day-to-day delivery within larger client engagements.
Manage stakeholder interactions and coach junior team members.
Write high-quality reports and present findings clearly to clients.
Understand project, commercial, and governance challenges with senior client stakeholders.
Develop practical recommendations for clients.
Analyze commercial, financial, and project data to identify trends, risks, and control weaknesses.
Support reviews across the lifecycle of major capital programmes, including governance, project controls, commercial arrangements, supplier performance, and delivery confidence.
Support commercial assurance reviews, including supplier cost assurance, contract compliance, commercial performance, and value optimisation.
Collaborate with technology and data specialists to integrate analytics, automation, and Generative AI into project delivery.
Support business development, proposition development, and thought leadership activities.

Requirements

Open to SA2s only.
ACA or international equivalent qualification.
Previous audit experience and/or a chartered accountant with analytical skills.
Strong curiosity and the ability to understand how organisations operate and where value or risk may exist.
Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
Strong written communication skills with the ability to produce high-quality client reports.
Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
Interest in AI, automation, and data-enabled ways of working.
Emotional intelligence with an ability to navigate cultural nuances.
Interest in major infrastructure, capital projects, or commercial performance, with a willingness to develop expertise in these areas.
