About the Role
PwC's Capital Projects Risk & Control team provides independent challenge and assurance across project delivery, commercial performance, and third-party relationships to help clients improve outcomes, reduce risk, and protect value. The team comprises accountants, commercial specialists, project professionals, engineers, and data specialists delivering a range of services for major infrastructure investments. This role offers the opportunity to work with high-profile clients on nationally significant projects, engage with senior stakeholders, and develop a unique blend of skills in a supportive, technology-enabled environment.
Responsibilities
- Deliver workstreams and manage day-to-day delivery within larger client engagements.
- Manage stakeholder interactions and coach junior team members.
- Write high-quality reports and present findings clearly to clients.
- Understand project, commercial, and governance challenges with senior client stakeholders.
- Develop practical recommendations for clients.
- Analyze commercial, financial, and project data to identify trends, risks, and control weaknesses.
- Support reviews across the lifecycle of major capital programmes, including governance, project controls, commercial arrangements, supplier performance, and delivery confidence.
- Support commercial assurance reviews, including supplier cost assurance, contract compliance, commercial performance, and value optimisation.
- Collaborate with technology and data specialists to integrate analytics, automation, and Generative AI into project delivery.
- Support business development, proposition development, and thought leadership activities.
Requirements
- Open to SA2s only.
- ACA or international equivalent qualification.
- Previous audit experience and/or a chartered accountant with analytical skills.
- Strong curiosity and the ability to understand how organisations operate and where value or risk may exist.
- Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
- Strong written communication skills with the ability to produce high-quality client reports.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Interest in AI, automation, and data-enabled ways of working.
- Emotional intelligence with an ability to navigate cultural nuances.
- Interest in major infrastructure, capital projects, or commercial performance, with a willingness to develop expertise in these areas.
