About the Role
We seek a champion of reproductive freedom in the Bay Area to recruit and mobilize members and volunteers supporting legislation and candidates aligned with reproductive freedom. This role involves building relationships with community members and leaders through various engagement and digital organizing tactics, coordinating events, and fostering member and volunteer leadership. The ideal candidate will center and uplift marginalized Californians, transforming their passion into action.
Responsibilities
- Build and execute volunteer/member engagement programs to achieve legislative and electoral priorities.
- Drive campaigns to advance reproductive freedom bills, engaging diverse volunteers in field and advocacy work.
- Support the planning and execution of the annual Lobby Day, including legislator meetings, volunteer travel, and logistics.
- Collaborate with National Organizing and Digital Organizing teams to align outreach, training, and advocacy efforts.
- Represent Reproductive Freedom for All in local and statewide coalitions.
- Build power through volunteer recruitment and leadership development, integrating diversity, equity, and inclusion values.
- Recruit new, diverse volunteers and leaders through event planning, one-on-one meetings, and digital/field organizing tactics.
- Move new and existing members and volunteers up the engagement ladder.
- Mentor and train volunteer leaders, including those directly affected by the fight for reproductive freedom, to establish self-sustaining "Action Councils".
- Support Action Council leaders in creating and executing organizing plans.
- Infuse Reproductive Freedom for All's vision, mission, and theory of change into volunteer communications.
- Sign up new members and move them up the engagement ladder into volunteer roles.
- Attend in-person events and travel as needed.
- Manage California intern(s).
- Maintain up-to-date volunteer engagement data in VAN, adhering to best practices and tracking metrics.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Experience in community organizing or advocacy/electoral campaign work, including engaging and energizing communities for high turnout.
- Demonstrated ability to develop organizing plans and achieve goals.
- Skilled in organizing tactics such as tabling, phone recruitment, canvassing, leadership pitching, one-on-one meetings, and coaching volunteer leaders.
- Ability to train volunteers and activists in skill development, power-building, and strategic planning.
- Data management experience, with the ability to use or learn tools like VAN, Scale to Win, and CallHub.
- Demonstrated ability to connect with people from diverse backgrounds and lived experiences.
- Strong time management and organizational skills.
- Ability to work with deadlines and under pressure.
- Self-driven and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Effective and concise oral and written communication skills.
- Demonstrated leadership ability, team building, and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated commitment to Reproductive Freedom for All’s mission, values, and goals.
- Expressed ability to perform responsibilities in line with Reproductive Freedom for All's values.

- Computer proficiency in Google Suites, MS Office, Excel, Publisher, and web-based research.
- Willingness to work some nights and weekends.

- Access to a vehicle and valid driver's license.
