About the Role
This opportunity resides with Warfare Systems (WS), a business group within HII’s Mission Technologies division. Warfare Systems comprises cyber and mission IT; electronic warfare; and C5ISR systems. HII works within our nation’s intelligence and cyber operations communities to defend our interests in cyberspace and anticipate emerging threats. Our capabilities in cybersecurity, network architecture, reverse engineering, software and hardware development uniquely enable us to support sensitive missions for the U.S. military and federal agency partners.
Responsibilities
- Perform a variety of tasks ranging from repetitive to non-repetitive production assembly operations on electronic and/or mechanical assemblies and sub-assemblies.
- Support the daily activities of the production line and/or processing areas.
- Help build long-term capability within the Manufacturing Organization.
- Mechanical assembly and installation of electronic and/or mechanical assemblies and sub-assemblies.
- Work with team members in assembly and integration of new and existing products.
- Deliver work according to quality requirements and work instructions.
- Adhere to processes and procedures to meet business and program objectives.
- Analyze and identify opportunities for process improvements.
- Efficiently operate hand tools such as drills, torque wrenches, wire cutters, wire strippers & crimpers.
- Identify and resolve tasks independently.
- Follow ESD principles and safeguarding practices.
- Able to lift 40 pounds.
Requirements
- Associates Degree or other 2 year technical degree in related discipline and 3 years of related experience; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 5 years related experience.
- Ability to read and understand assembly drawings, part lists, connection diagrams, schematics, engineering sketches.
- Ability to work with standardized procedures for high repeatability in an advanced and connected environment.
- Ability to obtain IPC-610, IPC-620, and IPC-J-STD-001 certification.
- Self-motivated and driven desire to succeed with minimal direction.
- Ability to work both in a team and individually.
- Must be familiar with hand tools such as torque wrenches, wire cutters, strippers & crimpers, and soldering.
- Must be a US Citizen and able to obtain a DoD government clearance.
- IPC-610, IPC-620, and IPC-J-STD-001 certification.
- Experience in soldering wires, small chips and, Circuit boards.
- Active/in-scope DOD Secret Clearance.
- Experience in the aerospace/defense industry.
- Wire harness assembly experience.
