About the Role

This position is responsible for cleaning and general maintenance services throughout the campus, ensuring a safe and clean environment for visitors, faculty, staff, and students. The role involves assisting with snow removal, landscaping, and potentially delivery/receiving operations and mail room support.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure a safe, clean environment for visitors, faculty, staff, and students.
  • Assist with snow removal and landscaping duties.
  • Perform delivery/receiving operations on campus.
  • Assist the mail room as necessary.
  • Assist in the safety, security, maintenance, and operations of Rochester Community and Technical College.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of different types of flooring/floor coverings and appropriate maintenance/cleaning methods.
  • Knowledge of chemical cleaning agents and their safe handling, application, and disposal.
  • Knowledge of maintenance methods, tools, and equipment, including ability to make minor repairs.
  • Ability to follow oral and written instructions.
  • Ability to perform assigned tasks with limited work direction.
  • Ability to keep adequate records.
  • Sufficient physical health and endurance to perform work functions.
  • Ability to perform work functions using ladders and scaffolding.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 30 lbs. regularly and 30-50 lbs. on occasion.
  • Capable of frequent standing, walking, lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling.
  • Capable of repetitive activities such as standing, walking, lifting, bending, reaching, carrying, pushing, and pulling.
  • Ability to use hand tools.
  • Good human relations skills, work habits, and self-motivation.
  • Valid Driver’s License.
  • Consent to a Motor Vehicle Records check.
