About the Role
The Senior Search Analyst will be the day-to-day steward of search media for assigned brands, responsible for monitoring and maintaining search campaign development, activation, and innovation. This role requires developing and maintaining a strong knowledge of clients' businesses and applying search expertise to meet client needs and objectives, working closely with a manager on search recommendations.
Responsibilities
- Gather and analyze keyword research for new campaign development.
- Gather necessary data for plan development.
- Group keywords into ad groups and develop relevant ad copy and extensions with minimal manager direction.
- Present recommendations and incorporate client feedback on keywords and copy before client signoff.
- Build flowcharts and load authorized buys in Prisma upon campaign approval.
- Generate paperwork for purchase authorization and ensure vendor counter-signature.
- Traffick approved plans into search engines.
- Perform QA of all campaign components before launch.
- Monitor and maintain campaign budgets, pacing, and bid adjustments.
- Proactively advocate for campaign adjustments based on performance trends.
- Actively monitor performance and competitive landscape.
- Develop and implement optimizations and testing plans (e.g., search query reports, negative keyword maintenance, keyword overlap, testing implementation).
- Pull and analyze data for campaign reporting and develop strategic insights with actionable items.
- Build clear, concise, and cohesive quantitative analyses with strong data visualization.
- Actively participate in client status and reporting calls, including presenting reports.
- Perform granular maintenance of monthly billing, including invoice tracking, buy actualization in Prisma, and compiling draft billing for manager approval.
- Resolve billing discrepancies in partnership with client strategy and billing reconciliation teams.
- Learn and utilize relevant tools for reporting, analytics, and competitive analysis (bid management platforms, Benchtools, Google Trends).
- Master core search metric calculations and relationships (e.g., CPC, CPA, CTR, SOV, weighted averages).
- Serve as a subject matter expert and resource for training and ad hoc questions.
- Develop strong working relationships with client teams and partner agencies for seamless communication.
- Establish professional rapport with sales representatives and media vendors.
- Demonstrate creativity and agility in problem-solving.
- Work closely with manager to establish priorities and manage workload.
- Ensure timely delivery of all work.
- Successfully complete training programs and requisite certifications.
Requirements
- 1-2 years of experience in paid search campaign development, management, and optimization using leading platforms (Google, Bing, Oath, etc.).
- Strong analytical thinking and mathematical skills.
- Ability to manage data.
- Experience with PPC and digital display advertising.
- Experience with traditional media elements.
- Resourceful, curious, and motivated individual.
- Ability to work independently and in a team setting.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Strong communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Intermediate-to-advanced understanding of Excel.
- Experience with Search Ads 360 / DoubleClick for Search.
- Experience with Google Trends and Google Auction Insights.
