About the Role
The Framing Manager supervises and coordinates independent subcontract framing crews on 84 Lumber projects. This role involves training, budgeting labor costs, maintaining production records, planning installation work, managing material distribution, ensuring contract compliance, and overseeing crew safety. The position also handles customer inquiries and complaints.
Responsibilities
- Manage the installation of wood component systems, doors and windows, siding (wood and cement), shingles, insulation, drywall, and trim.
- Recruit independent subcontractors holding the proper licenses and insurance.
- Labor cost budgeting.
- Development of job specific scopes of work including schedule.
- Conduct daily jobsite inspections for quality and schedule to ensure compliance with blueprints and specifications.
- Conduct daily safety inspections.
- Ensure company compliance with contract documents.
- Prepare daily reports, job diaries, narratives, and other special documentation as determined by the company and project needs.
Requirements
- Exercising discretion and independent judgment in responding to and adjusting common inquiries or complaints from customers.
- Ability to read and comprehend documents (i.e. policy and procedure manuals).
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
- Ability to speak/present in front of a small group.
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form.
- Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
