About the Role
A Salesforce Principal at Ness is the most senior practitioner on an engagement, owning the solution's shape and delivery from requirements to sign-off. This hands-on role involves leading and executing critical tasks, establishing frameworks, and serving as the primary client contact and team lead.
Responsibilities
- Own the solution design, including data model, automation, security model, integration boundaries, and change sequencing.
- Own the accuracy of the requirement baseline, ensuring traceability and client visibility.
- Manage impact and risk assessments, proactively identifying potential issues.
- Serve as the day-to-day delivery lead for the client, including at VP and sponsor levels.
- Develop and maintain a forward plan for the engagement, ensuring the squad and client are aligned.
- Assign work, unblock the squad, and elevate the standard of team members.
- Exercise commercial judgment to understand engagement value and scope.
- Contribute to practice development through reusable assets, pre-sales support, and process improvement.
- Lead the work and perform critical tasks that determine the success of the overall solution.
Requirements
- Twelve or more years in enterprise business systems, with six or more years delivering Salesforce.
- At least three years as the most senior practitioner on an engagement.
- Deep Sales Cloud experience.
- Direct hands-on experience with Revenue Lifecycle Management or CPQ (quoting, pricing, approvals, contracts, path to order).
- Proven ability to deliver change within large, mature, heavily customized organizations without causing regressions.
- Experience leading a squad through agile delivery, including sprints, ceremonies, a groomed backlog, and user stories.
- Credibility with client sponsor groups and ability to hold a position with disagreeing VPs.
- Administrator and Sales Cloud Consultant Salesforce certifications.
- Ability to read an org's metadata and assess the impact of proposed changes across various Salesforce components.
- Experience designing for multi-region organizations with shared components.
- Proficiency with VS Code and Salesforce CLI, or ability to learn quickly.
- Skill in using AI tooling as an accelerator, with a focus on verification.
- Takes ownership without being asked, identifying needs and driving them to completion.
- Raises problems early with proposed solutions.
- Answers questions directly and provides timelines for unavailable information.
- Checks for existing information before asserting new findings.
- Comfortable being the most accountable person, even in difficult situations.
- Develops team members by explaining the 'why' behind tasks.
- Experience in a live, high-visibility program for a global fleet-services client is a plus.
- Experience with complex, senior client work with decision-making sponsors.
