Responsibilities
- Coordinate with lead bankers in developing a strategic and operational business plan.
- Monitor client performance and provide credit updates.
- Implement strategic and operational plans to achieve departmental goals.
- Support lead bankers in sales and marketing activities.
- Develop new business, underwrite, structure, and close commercial loans.
- Maintain and service the existing loan portfolio.
- Represent the bank in the business community and promote its products and services.
- Negotiate loan terms and structures based on risk considerations.
- Present credits for approval.
- Support the bank's relationship banking culture through customer contact and service.
- Prepare lending proposals and pitches to prospective clients.
- Institute cross-selling initiatives to clients across all areas of the firm.
Requirements
- Strong financial aptitude and broad analytical ability.
- Knowledge of domestic and foreign financial markets and products.
- Strong knowledge of the Corporate and Investment Banking environment.
- Understanding of corporate relationships.
- Good negotiation skills with internal and external stakeholders.
- Adept at relevant systems and processes (Deal Screening, DUCC, C-Hub, GCARS, CDL, KYC, etc.).
- Mastery of the Bank’s Credit, Banking, and Capital Market products.
- Sound credit skills, including detailed understanding of cash flow & LBO models.
- Senior role on new origination, including underwriting process coordination.
- Knowledge of indentures and credit agreements for corporate legal documentation.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Excellent presentation, pitching, and public speaking capabilities.
- Business writing, editing, and proofreading skills.
- Fluent in commitment letters and credit agreements.
- A good team player with excellent interpersonal skills.
- Capacity to run deals as primary and secondary banker.
- Committed to continued development and growth.
- Potential/ability to guide junior members of the team.
