About the Role

The Merchandiser will work primarily in customers' retail locations to ensure Ben E. Keith products are properly represented and competitively positioned. This involves building retail displays, hanging promotional signs, and engaging with consumers and retail personnel to communicate brand value. The role also includes product rotation and stocking.

Responsibilities

  • Fill in for sales representatives as needed.
  • Build business relationships and establish good communication with retail customers.
  • Collaborate with customers to establish their needs and design solutions.
  • Leverage relationships to sell in new brands.
  • Engage in regular calls on assigned retail accounts to sell product, gain distribution, merchandise, and stock product.
  • Promote Ben E. Keith brands at retail through promotions, consumer education, and merchandising.
  • Execute company goals to enhance sales, distribution, shelf space, display coverage, tap share, and merchandising.
  • Build product displays and execute placement of signage and merchandising material for maximum brand visibility.
  • Maintain the 'Look of the Leader' in retail accounts.
  • Remain aware of and execute basic marketing activity related to sales channels.
  • Identify merchandising opportunities and make recommendations to customers.
  • Regularly replace merchandising material to coincide with marketing programs.
  • Ensure maximum visibility of Ben E. Keith products and appropriate pricing.
  • Organize and refill back stock, coolers, beer shelves, and displays.
  • Maintain designated back stock areas, ensuring organization and cleanliness.
  • Maintain product freshness standards by monitoring and rotating stock.
  • Remain aware of all Ben E. Keith product offerings and their value.
  • Regularly monitor inventory for proper stock levels and rotation.
  • Attend daily meetings with Area Sales Manager to discuss market opportunities and challenges.
  • Communicate sales and merchandising opportunities or challenges, and competitive activity to Area Sales Manager.
  • Project a friendly, professional image.
  • Prioritize multiple, competing priorities.
  • Attend meetings as required.
  • Operate all company equipment safely and in accordance with policy.
  • Ensure company equipment is in safe, working condition and report incidents or unsafe conditions.
  • Maintain and keep assigned company vehicle clean.
  • Complete assigned surveys to gauge internal results versus competition.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Ability to learn and effectively use the handheld sales unit.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Able to coordinate multiple activities and follow through with commitments.
  • Must be highly motivated and results-oriented, with strong attention to detail.
  • Must be organized with the ability to handle multiple priorities.
  • Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations.
  • Must be able to read and write English.
  • Ability to move products weighing up to 165 lbs., stoop, kneel, crouch, talk and hear.
  • Must have a valid Texas driver’s license with a clean driving record.
  • Must be 18 years or older to apply.

Skills

  • Draught experience preferred.
  • Basic computer skills preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Power Point) preferred.
  • Good oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to participate well in a team environment.
