About the Role
The Regional Director of Daily Operations oversees and optimizes the day-to-day operational performance of multiple hotel properties within an assigned region, ensuring consistent execution of brand standards, service excellence, and operational efficiency. This role drives operational discipline, improves guest satisfaction, and maintains seamless daily hotel operations by working closely with General Managers and property teams.
Responsibilities
- Lead and oversee daily operational activities across all properties within the assigned region to ensure consistency and efficiency.
- Ensure all hotels operate in alignment with brand standards, company policies, and established operating procedures.
- Establish and monitor daily performance benchmarks related to service quality, productivity, and operational execution.
- Conduct frequent on-site visits to assess guest experience, cleanliness standards, service delivery, and operational readiness.
- Provide direct support and guidance to General Managers and department leaders to resolve operational challenges in real time.
- Analyze operational reports, service metrics, and guest feedback to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions.
- Partner with General Managers to ensure proper staffing levels, scheduling efficiency, and effective departmental coordination.
- Monitor labor usage and operational expenses to improve efficiency while maintaining high service standards.
- Drive a culture of accountability, consistency, and responsiveness across all hotel teams.
- Review guest satisfaction scores, online reviews, and internal feedback systems to enhance the overall guest experience.
- Support hiring, onboarding, and training initiatives to ensure operational staff are well-prepared and aligned with standards.
- Provide coaching, mentorship, and ongoing performance feedback to property leadership teams.
- Assist in implementing operational improvements, standardization initiatives, and best practices across the portfolio.
- Maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders, vendors, and local partners to support operational success.
- Lead and manage all AODA-related compliance across the region, including conducting audits, liaising with government authorities and the Ministry when required, and supporting General Managers and HR teams to ensure all properties consistently meet accessibility standards and regulatory requirements.
- Perform additional duties as assigned to support business needs.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, or a related field, or equivalent operational experience.
- 7-10 years of progressive hotel operations experience, including multi-property oversight or senior leadership roles.
- Strong background in managing daily hotel operations, including front office, housekeeping, and guest services.
- Proven ability to manage multiple locations and teams in a fast-paced environment.
- Fluency in English required; additional languages are an asset.
- Strong analytical and numerical skills, with the ability to interpret operational data and performance indicators.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong leadership, problem-solving, and organizational abilities.
- Ability to adapt quickly, make decisions under pressure, and manage competing priorities.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as operational demands require.
- Ability to lift or carry items up to 25 pounds.
- Ability to stand or remain active for extended periods.
- Ability to bend, kneel, or reach as necessary during property visits.
- Ability to interact professionally with guests, employees, and external partners.
