About the Role
Longhorn Village is seeking a candidate with a strong positive attitude toward customer service to act as an Environmental Services Coordinator. This person will have a genuine interest in geriatric care and be able to motivate while maintaining relationships with staff and residents. The right candidate will always strive to do the best job possible, to be creative and to work towards accomplishing facility goals.
Responsibilities
- Overseeing the day-to-day operations of the Housekeeping, Laundry, and Porter Departments.
- Managing staff scheduling, daily assignments, work orders, projects, and overall department activity.
- Hiring, training, and coaching Housekeeping, Laundry, and Porters.
- Performing "hands on" cleaning as needed.
- Communicating effectively in both English and Spanish for work orders, budgets, and reports.
- Performing routine inspections of all community areas, including resident apartments, offices, dining rooms, and common areas.
- Direct responsibility for unit refurbishment activities, coordinating with contractors and Maintenance.
- Exhibiting strong commitment to customer service with residents, staff, vendors, and guests.
- Working effectively and efficiently with others.
- Conducting or coordinating staff training as directed by Supervisor.
- Maintaining all tools, related equipment, and supplies in a clean, safe, and proper operating condition.
- Assisting in the choice and purchase of supplies and related equipment.
- Maintaining accurate work records and inventories of equipment and supplies.
- Performing all work in a professional manner, maintaining high-quality work standards, attention to detail, neatness, and proper follow-up.
- Maintaining strict confidentiality due to the sensitivity of records and conversions.
- Communicating clearly, professionally, and respectfully in both English and Spanish, verbally and in writing.
- Demonstrating community hospitality promises towards residents, families, associates, and vendors.
- Overseeing the day-to-day setup and coordination of events throughout the community, including Healthcare-related events.
- Overseeing and maintaining complete floor care throughout the community, ensuring floors are clean, safe, and properly maintained.
- Performing other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Director.
Requirements
- Must be Bilingual in English and Spanish, with the ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in both languages.
- High School education or GED preferred but not required.
- Preferred minimum of 1-3 years of housekeeping in hospitality or healthcare environment.
