About the Role

Humber River Health is seeking a General X-Ray Technologist to join their Medical Imaging team. This role involves performing various x-ray exams and operating diverse imaging equipment to provide high-quality patient care.

Responsibilities

• Perform all x-ray exams as per determined departmental protocols.
• Perform general x-ray, O.R., Portables, Gastric exams, Fluoroscopy and minor procedures.
• Operate all types of equipment including general x-ray rooms (DR & CR), mobile x-ray, c-arm fluoroscopy, general fluoroscopy and multi-purpose rooms.
• Prepare and assess patients for radiologic procedures, including obtaining consent, confirming exam validity, resourcing radiologists, and practicing sterile techniques.
• Complete exam process by image review, confirming documentation and presenting to radiologists for reporting via film and/or PACS.
• Knowledge of and dutifully follows radiation safety practices for the protection of the patient, colleagues and their own occupational dose.

Requirements

• Must be registered and in good standing with College of Medical Radiation and Imaging Technologists of Ontario (CMRITO).
• Must have past experience in Emergency, Operating Room and Portable Radiology.
• Ability to work independently or part of a team internally and externally to the Medical Imaging Department.
• Excellent attendance and discipline free record required.
• Must be willing to cross-train and work in other areas of the department when necessary.
• An understanding of equity, diversity, and inclusion principles as they relate to health practices is an asset.

Salary/Compensations

• $36.84 - $50.24 per hour
