About the Role
National General is seeking a Commercial Casualty Adjuster (Specialty Claims) to investigate, evaluate, and resolve complex specialty claims involving commercial casualty losses. This role is responsible for determining coverage, assessing liability and damages, conducting detailed investigations, and negotiating claim settlements within authority limits.
Responsibilities
- Investigates and confirms the facts of loss for advanced automobile accidents.
- Determines coverage, liability, damages and otherwise adjusts and negotiates claims within limit of authority.
- Determines coverage, assesses liability and damages, conducts detailed investigations, and negotiates claim settlements within authority limits.
- Applies advanced understanding of insurance policies, the industry, and organizational relationships.
- Handles investigation regarding all aspects of advanced auto claims (coverage, liability and damages) with discretion and independence.
- Learns how to review, evaluate, and negotiate basic to moderate injury claims.
- Recognizes and identifies vehicle body parts and other potential property damage.
- Identifies customer needs and works to meet those needs using appropriate customer service skills.
- Determines subrogation or fraud potential and how to handle.
- Applies increased experience in the Adjuster II level or a rotation into a specialty position.
Requirements
- Strong experience handling commercial casualty claims, attorney-represented files, and/or auto bodily injury claims.
- Ability to manage complex exposures, collaborate with internal and external partners, and deliver exceptional customer service.
- Individuals who currently hold an active insurance license must terminate all existing appointments prior to onboarding and must not hold any outside appointments at any point during employment.
- Applicants seeking an adjuster role who also hold a resident producer license must formally surrender that license when instructed to by the licensing team.
- Candidates must possess authorization to work in the United States, as it is not our practice to sponsor individuals for work visas.
- Must have a dedicated, private workspace free from distractions, along with appropriate desk and seating.
- Reliable internet is required, with minimum speeds of 50 MB download and 5 MB upload.

- Adjuster Cons I: $53,500.00 – $77,800.00
- Adjuster Cons II: $56,000.00 – 82,500.00
- Adjuster Sr. Cons I: $68,500.00 – 104,100.00
