About the Role

Manage complex, high-exposure Personal Lines Bodily Injury claims, utilizing sound judgment, strategic thinking, and strong negotiation skills. Partner with internal teams, defense counsel, vendors, and other experts to develop claim strategy and drive effective resolutions for sophisticated First- and Third-Party Bodily Injury claims.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough coverage, liability, and injury investigations, obtain statements, and evaluate facts for timely claim decisions.
  • Analyze complex Personal Lines policies and coverage issues, including Primary and Excess matters, and apply sound judgment to claim strategy.
  • Direct field investigations and collaborate with Field, Counsel, Surveillance, and other vendors for effective claim resolution.
  • Maintain accurate, timely reserves and continually evaluate financial exposure.
  • Partner with defense counsel to develop and execute litigation strategies and collaborate with SIU to identify and address potential fraud.
  • Resolve claims through informed, merit-based negotiations with injured parties and their attorneys.
  • Represent the company in arbitrations, depositions, mediations, and trials as required.
  • Stay current on industry developments, contribute to training and knowledge-sharing, and support team initiatives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution or equivalent experience.
  • 3–5 years of Personal Lines Bodily Injury claims experience.
  • Experience handling complex liability claims preferred.
  • Experience with UM/UIM, Excess, or Umbrella claims is a plus.
  • Strong knowledge of litigation, arbitration, mediation, and trial procedures.
  • Experience handling claims across multiple states.
  • Experience handling claims in Massachusetts and New Hampshire is preferred.
  • Strong coverage analysis, investigation, evaluation, negotiation, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to effectively collaborate with policyholders, attorneys, vendors, and internal partners.
  • Thorough understanding of applicable state laws, regulatory guidelines, and statutory requirements.
