About the Role
Manages and oversees evening and weekend teen/adult programs, ensuring smooth operation, staff supervision, and a safe, engaging environment for all.
Responsibilities
- Oversee center operations and ensure a safe, positive environment for teens, including rule enforcement, conflict de-escalation, and emergency response.
- Assist in planning and developing activities, events, and programs for teens and adults.
- Facilitate professional development for staff and conduct onboarding for new hires.
- Supervise staff, interns, and volunteers, ensuring they are trained, engaged, and perform duties effectively.
- Communicate effectively with teens, adults, families, and stakeholders, building positive relationships and addressing concerns.
- Maintain accurate records of attendance, activities, and incidents.
- Input data onto DYCD Connect and communicate with DYCD program managers and deputies.
- Participate in training and professional development opportunities.
- Coordinate and manage events, including planning, logistics, and execution.
- Build and maintain relationships with community partners.
- Clean, organize, and maintain workspace and shared spaces.
- Coordinate community relations efforts and participate in outreach activities.
- Assist in the planning, organization, and execution of community events.
- Perform other assignments as required by the program director.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- At least 1 year of experience working with middle school and high school youths in a supervisory role.
- Candidate must successfully complete NYSDOH Fingerprinting Screening, NYS Clearance Review Background Check, SEL, and 3 Reference Checks.
- Candidate must successfully complete a Physical with an updated TB test.
Skills
- Familiarity with DYCD Connect is preferred.
- Valid CPR/AED and First Aid certification through recognized accrediting body preferred.
