About the Role
This Engineering Co-op – Product Engineering (Mechanical) offers hands-on experience in the material handling and manufacturing industry, where you’ll work on meaningful projects and gain insight into mechanical product design, Creo, engineering change management, product validation, manufacturing support, root cause investigation, and cross-functional product development. You’ll collaborate with the Product Engineering team, as well as mentors and leadership, building skills that will help launch your career!
Responsibilities
- Investigate manufacturing and product issues by working directly on the production floor and collaborating with operators and engineers.
- Design and implement mechanical product improvements using Creo, engineering drawings, and engineering change processes.
- Plan, conduct, and document laboratory, production, and vehicle testing to validate product performance and design changes.
- Own multiple engineering projects from problem identification through design, implementation, and production release with guidance from an experienced engineering mentor.
- Collaborate with Manufacturing, Quality, Reliability, Supplier Quality, and Operations teams to solve technical problems and improve products.
- Take projects from concept through production on industry-leading material handling equipment.
Requirements
- Cumulative GPA of at least 3.0
- Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s degree program in Mechanical Engineer, Mechanical Engineering Technologies, Manufacturing Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, or a closely related engineering discipline.
- Sophomore, Junior, or Senior academic standing at time of co-op
- Full time on-site availability for 6 month co-op rotation
- Currently enrolled in an accredited engineering program
- Strong interpersonal, analytical, and problem solving skills
