About the Role
Hinge Health is seeking a Manager, Legal Operations to scale the operational backbone of our Legal & Compliance team. This role will translate priorities into coordinated, measurable initiatives as the company grows. You will own and mature core legal operations functions, including outside counsel relationships and spend, e-billing, budgeting and forecasting, contract lifecycle management, and legal technology, while also driving process improvement and program management. This is a high-visibility role for someone who enjoys building infrastructure that lets attorneys focus on legal work instead of administrative overhead and wants to make a measurable, company-wide impact.
Responsibilities
- Lead the legal operations function, setting strategy and roadmap while partnering with leadership to align priorities with company goals.
- Manage the team’s annual OKR planning and reporting, and develop agendas, decision materials, and follow-up processes for leadership meetings.
- Act as a central point of coordination for time-sensitive or department-wide initiatives sponsored by the General Counsel.
- Provide the General Counsel with department-wide visibility into priorities, resources, dependencies, and execution risks.
- Support department communications, organizational planning, and stakeholder alignment.
- Lead legal technology strategy, evaluating, implementing, and managing the legal team's technology stack.
- Simplify legal intake process to improve response times.
- Own outside counsel and vendor relationships and spend, ensuring engagements are scoped clearly, billed accurately, and delivering value relative to cost.
- Drive e-billing and spend visibility, owning and improving the e-billing process for real-time insight and control over legal spend.
- Manage budgeting and forecasting, building and maintaining the legal team's budget and forecast, and partnering with Finance to track spend.
- Own contract lifecycle management, managing templates, workflows, technical integrations, and system configuration.
- Drive process improvement by identifying friction points and implementing scalable process fixes.
- Manage legal and compliance programs, supporting cross-functional program and project management.
- Build knowledge management systems, maintaining and improving how legal knowledge, templates, and playbooks are organized and accessed.
Requirements
- 6+ years of combined experience in broad in-house legal operations, law firm operations, or a related operational/business/chief-of-staff role, with direct experience managing people and technology-driven optimizations.
- Hands-on experience with e-billing platforms (e.g., Brightflag) and contract lifecycle management systems (e.g., Ironclad).
- Demonstrated experience building and managing budgets/forecasts in partnership with Finance.
- Strong project management skills with a track record of leading process improvement initiatives across multiple stakeholders.
- In-house legal operations experience at a healthcare, digital health, or other highly regulated technology company.
- Experience implementing or optimizing a legal technology stack.
- Familiarity with using and deploying AI tools (e.g. GC AI, Claude, Glean) and agents to drive efficiency in legal and legal operations work.
