About the Role

Alt is unlocking the value of alternative assets, starting with the $5B trading-card market. Our next frontier is real-time pricing at scale—the Alt Value that powers every trade, loan, and product on the platform. This role takes pricing models from working to excellent, owning the full lifecycle from feature generation to deployment and monitoring. The metric you own is Model-Based Pricing Coverage, with supporting KPIs for pricing accuracy, freshness, and underwriting performance.

Responsibilities

Own the full ML lifecycle: feature generation, training, validation, deployment, serving, and monitoring.
Improve pricing accuracy, reduce infrastructure costs, and increase coverage, especially on high-value assets.
Iterate the underwriting model to maximize cash advance disbursements without breaching risk thresholds.
Manage the models' AWS infrastructure and pricing APIs, including capacity planning, autoscaling, and latency.
Design and run experiments to validate features that improve predictive power and coverage.
Collaborate with Expert Pricers to ensure model changes reflect real market judgment.

Requirements

7+ years of engineering experience, with 5+ years building and shipping production ML/AI models.
Proficiency in production-grade Python and SQL, including custom feature-engineering pipelines.
Experience with gradient-boosted or ensemble estimators trained and validated against strict accuracy tolerances.
Experience with LLMs and foundation models in production for internal tooling and user-facing products.
Experience with MLflow or a comparable tool for experiment tracking and model registry/versioning.
Experience with production model-serving on AWS, including capacity planning, autoscaling, and diagnosing failures.
Familiarity with CI/CD, production workflow orchestration, and IaC.
A pragmatic bias towards incremental value delivery over perfect rebuilds.
Experience with real-time or low-latency serving at scale is a bonus.
Startup experience is a bonus.
Interest in or knowledge of the collectibles market is a bonus.
