About the Role
The Routing and Dispatch Coordinator will be responsible for the daily scheduling, routing, and dispatch of delivery drivers and service technicians to ensure efficient propane distribution and optimal utilization of field resources. This role will leverage route optimization software and collaborate with various teams to create efficient routes and schedules that meet operational metrics while maintaining exceptional customer service. The coordinator will be the subject matter expert for routing infrastructure, scheduling optimization, field resource utilization, and associated reporting tools.
Responsibilities
- Daily scheduling, routing, and dispatch of delivery drivers and service technicians.
- Leverage route optimization software.
- Work closely with District Operations, Customer Experience teams, and regional leadership.
- Create efficient routes and schedules that meet/exceed operational metrics.
- Maintain exceptional customer service.
- Serve as the subject matter expert for routing infrastructure, scheduling optimization, field resource utilization, and reporting tools.
Requirements
- Prior experience with driver routing and/or technician dispatching required.
- Strong analytical mindset with ability to translate data into actionable results.
- Detail-oriented problem solver with high accuracy standards.
- Knowledge of safety and DOT protocols.
- Strong understanding of field operations with ability to identify and communicate downstream impacts of strategic decisions.
- Ability to understand and relate technical requirements for service work.
- Candidates must be willing to submit to a pre-employment drug screen and a criminal background check.
- Successful applicants shall be required to pass a pre-employment drug screen as a condition of employment.
- Shall be subject to substance abuse testing in accordance with AmeriGas policies.
- AmeriGas cannot permit employees in certain positions to use medical marijuana, even if prescribed by an authorized physician.
- Applicants for such positions who are actively using medical marijuana may be denied hire on that basis.
